As I posted previously, I have been working with a couple of other people on a limited edition book about zeppelins. The final hardback book is now complete, along with a box case which it fits in. There are 35 double pages with 30 images, most of them created by us. Also there is an A2 screenprinted poster and a fold-out blueprint of a zeppelin. We wrote the story in the book. It is entirely fictitious, but loosely based on facts we found from our research.
I wrote the handwriting style in the book used for the first few words of each diary entry and also varnished on to the end pages and slotted part of the case. The front cover is screenprinted gold and also has a line of handwriting.
It has been a long process to create this book to the high standard we wanted, however it is very rewarding to see the final book in its final form.

Update
At the moment I have been working with two other people to create a book about zeppelins. We have written the copy, created images, posters and illustrations. The book is to be printed, with the inclusion of some screen printed pages. Photos will follow when it is all printed and bound.
Also I have been working on an ISTD competition brief . I chose the Mutton Quad option to create a typographically based concept for a restaurant. More information and images will follow once the competition is completed and marked in 2011.

Nottingham Poster
After walking around Nottingham, I designed a double sided poster documenting my journey. The front shows street names and the size shows the number of times I walked along them. The back of the poster is a series of photographs where I found circles around the city

Party Poster
Whilst working at a computer games company over the summer, I created a poster for a party they were hosting for the team. They wanted the poster to reflect the type of game they were creating.
I have had to insert Lorem Ipsum as the copy in the background because due signing a non-disclosure, I was unable to keep the original text story.

I returned to my house this summer to find a nest of wasps. I woke up and this fellow was resting on my window.

Second Year Over!
So, my second year at Northumbria University is now finished! Been so busy over the past couple of months I'm not sure I know how to have so much spare time.Had a really good year, and have felt my skills and creativity increase. In some ways I wish i didn't have 4 months off now, although I am going to be taking a 6 week internship in Frankfurt, Germany.
I'll be updating over the next few days with work form the last semester, aswell as other bits and bobs I've seen and done along the way.

The Big Brew
I took part in a live brief with a company called Traidcraft, based in Gateshead. Traidcraft are committed to making trade fair in the world, and create and sell a wide range of products. They also work with the producers in a umber of different countries, and help the communities they like in too.
In a group, we were to create a concept for The Big Brew, an event for people to host their own tea party and to raise the awareness of fair trade tea. We came up with the idea of clean organic shapes, which all grow from The Big Brew logo, which we also created.
My part of the project was to create a large format poster (top image), briefly explaining what The Big Brew is, and where to get more information, and also two smaller posters to be used when people hold a Big Brew event.

New Website
I've created a new website, with more work, more features, better layout etc etc.
It's just better than before!
Check it out and let me know what you think!
Comments are greatly appreciated..let me know if there's anything not working, anything that looks good/bad/boring etc. (I know the images are all a bit when opening in lightbox, but I'm sorting that out)
enjoy!
